Would someone with true NPD constantly - and publicly - defend you, praise you, compliment you and confide in you in the workplace? This person has many other traits of NPD - always the center of attention, a rebel, a braggart, a boaster, a truth-stretcher, takes on more than he can really handle, wants to control all situations and conversations, no empathy, wants to talk about himself all the time, etc. He does not display any rage if he doesn't get his own way but he is very clever and usually wins through persistence or silent revenge, when revenge is warranted. Would this person have a milder form of narcissism?[/b]
