Why I love myself today...oh gosh this is a great thread...need that healthy Nism...oh yes I do!

Hum.....

BECAUSE I GOT MY DREAM JOB! sorry for the all caps but just found out and so excited!

Also because am abuse free today, away from my STBXNH, my N mom and my toxic family!

Life is so wonderful when it is abuse free!

because -

even though I may have minor setbacks here and there, overall I am moving forward, becoming stronger and wiser.

I love my family dearly. Can't wait to see all of my nieces and nephews today... and to play with my cousin's triplets. Going Easter egg hunting!!

got my annual lab work back, and everything is A-Ok Smile

No residual effects from all the stress (other than emotional). Was worried b/c my diet hasn't been all that great post-N (lost a lot of weight (50lbs.) and eating mostly comfort food - not very healthy).

I love myself today because -

- I was really brave today. I told the man I've been dating how I feel about him. I think I was sending mixed messages (of course I was - who wouldn't after all of this). He handled it with grace and I was so grateful I made the leap. So far, so good.

- I love how brave I am getting back into the dating scene. I really like this guy, but I also love how I am willing to walk away from him if things don't turn out well - if he shows glimmers of being another nutbar. I am doing everything I can to avoid what I've been through.

- I have great style. I had the most beautiful green silk top on yesterday and got tons of compliments.

- I am a hard worker.

- I consistently strive to be a better person.

I love myself because I have found the courage to post in this Thread today for the first time and even though I do love myself, I was struggling a little to work out why and express it...

I love myself because because I am here in a place that is N free and giving my kids a better life...

I love myself because without you guys I would never have learnt that..

I love myself because I am a good and courageous person.

This is an awesome Thread Knoxy!!! Thank you for starting it!! I am going to make it a Sticky because its just one of those threads that rocks me!!

And... I hope that one day I will get to the point where I can also post a "I love myself today because..." message and actually mean it again.

I am glad to see all of you who post on this thread. I keep seeing this thread get bumped to the top; it's good to know others on this board are healing.

I appreciate the lovely people I have in my life, especially some good friends I have made through this forum
Because I can now see I deserve much better than what I was getting

Every day isn't perfect, sometimes my life is not what I wished it to be, but I'm alive and a hell of a lot luckier than a lot of other people. I still get scared and frightened but I just try my best to plod through, ask for help when I need it and slowly learning to trust people...

I need to bump this puppy to bring it back to life.

Why I love myself today.

- I have GREAT skin that is FINALLY clearing up! I have had adult acne since I was in my early thirties and I've FINALLY found something that works! Woo hoo!

- I am starting to work out again. I care enough about my health and my body to put my money where my mouth is and get a trainer.

- I'm smart and I'm willing to look at myself - the good AND the bad.

- I have a good way with words and I find that I can break things down where people understand and can digest messages to help themselves.

- I care so much about getting on track again, that I'm pushing aside my PHOBIA of dentists and getting MAJOR work done. Yeah me! (hold my hand, I'm frigging terrified... root canals, wisdom teeth pulled, you name it!!!)

- I have great friends - so that must mean I'm okay too! Smile

I love myself today because:

- I truly feel and have compassion for other people

- I am making new friends

- I do make a difference: recently had a very good review on a patient satisfaction report where they named me specifically; and I turned in a journal article about a new piece of equipment that would improve I.V. starts (potentially less sticks for those hard to stick) - administration is seriously looking into getting that equipment now! They valued my input.

- people DO love me: my 17 year old nephew called me out of the blue the other day... said 'love you taunte' (aunt in french) - it REALLY made my day; and my brother called the other day just b/c he 'misses' me Smile

Cause I love my new job! It rocks!

Am surrounded by so many friendly emotionally heathly people...OMG!

Go into work everyday and everyone is smiling, love the people I work with, it is all about team work and communication!

Cause I have made new friends who are emotionally healthy

Cause yesterday was my 3rd wedding anniversary to the ol' STBXNH and didn't realize it till I got home from work and it did not bother me.

Cause I love this forum! YOU ALL ROCK!

- Because I've chosen incredible friends who rally around me - both in cyberspace and "real life" - when I need them.

- Because I'm fun and quirky and beautiful.

- Because I have great taste in clothing.

- Because I have an open heart and work through my crap.

- Because I have integrity and a strong internal constitution - I say sorry when I am wrong and mean it with my whole heart.

- Because I have a great family - we started off rough, but it's grown into a wonderful healing experience.

- Because I have nice hands.

I love myself because I was strong enough to avoid any contact w/ my "N" who tried 5 times today to reach me.

I also let him know he was not to contact me again--I had been skirting around that for almost a week.

I did some nice things for myself today--worked on a tiling project and took myself to the movies! I also let myself relax today and did my nails. I really am pampering myself right now.

Oh and I found this board to get some support for the trauma of disengaging with this pathological man as the wounds are still fresh.

Why I love myself today:

- Because I am creative and a great gift giver. I have a great gift box I made especially for a friend and it is SO perfect.

- Because I am a straight shooter and I (almost) always have the best intentions.

- Because I will go above and beyond for a friend.

- Because I am loyal.

- Because I strive to keep my side of the street clean.

- Because I have awesome curly hair.

- Because I work hard on myself - I do something every day to better myself or frame my point of view to a healthier place.

Gosh I love this thread, most inspirational.

Much better than focusing on the negatives.

It seems many of us are much the same, we have many true values.

I love myself becauase I have much to give.....

- I have a nice figure.

- I am a good friend.

- I am caring.

- I am strong.

- I am willing to work on myself.

- I have great style.

- I have a great family and I'm very grateful for that.
