Gab,
Re the '101 and one things to do with a dead cat'. I have a copy here somewhere.
I ended up with an abandoned kitten 2 pupils of mine who lived nearby at the time found while they were walking my dog for me (which they did on staff meeting afternoons).
The poor thing was worm ridden, half bald, skeletal and otherwise near death.
The two girls were in tears and so was I. I wormed, washed and fed her, took her to the local vet for whatever additional care (or ....) he thought was viable and 3 days (and many dollars) later picked her up again and brought her home.
Most of my work colleagues thought I was nuts when I told them and when we did 'Secret Santa" amongst the staff that year, I received a copy of that book.
Well 'blow me' (as Theresa would say) to whoever chose it as Claudia is still with me 12yrs on, as healthy and content as a moggie could be and I've never had any regrets.

And where is T anyway?? I knew she was taking a break but... do you think she'll come back? Miss her big time, miss her sharp wit!!
Maybe dukky went on a holiday? I understand Mars is beautiful this time of year.

Milo,
Hon...your making me cry ((((((((((hugs))))))))). Am actually a very big cat person myself...you are wonderful, kind person for taking in those stray cats. If I could I would take in every stray cat in the world. Glad Claudia gives you so much comfort...pets are wonderful, they gives us that unconditional love...to be honest IMO, cats are the best! They rock, nothing like having a bad day and coming home to your little kitty and cuddling with them and them purring away..love it.
Actually, when I left my STBXNH we had 2 family cats, that I had to leave with him...it killed me but it was the right thing to do because 1 cat was his before we met and the other we adopted from Iraq, his sister lived over there and she was big into saving starys there...his sister loves that cat so I couldn't take eihter one, besides you know N's he tried to say I was going to steal the cats when I left...too much of a hassle for me. Don't worry, his sister I know watches over the cats, she would nvere let him harm them, don't talk to her but I know she keeps an eye on them.
so when I left my STBXNH, I went straight to the pound and got myself a kitty, Lady Di is her name and she has been there for through all of this...I love her. Sorry to babble, thank you for sharing your story, it is good to know there are people out there like me that love cats...here is a picture of Lady Di...
