My 15 mo old grandaughter is being taken in to the Dr today for various things such as...she isn't walking yet...crawls really fast and walks holding on to things but not on her own...latley she has fallen flat while crawling...and has lost her balance a few times....once from a sitting position and a couple times from a standing position...Please pray nothing serious is found.....After having a emotionally bad day yesterday I found myself sobbing in fear of what might be found.....I need everyones prayers...Thank you! _________________ I have a photographic memory....I just don't have same day service.....................Cookie

Let us know what you find out.

I will, of course, pray for your baby grandchild. I will give it every prayer I can find.
They say that good crawlers can move so fast, they don't have time to learn to walk right away. And also, good crawlers are much better readers (the back and forth movements). My oldest was 19 months old and crawling like the wind, she could get into more trouble crawling than any running child. When she decided to, she walked across the room and down the hall. She still crawled when she was in a hurry for several months. but if she wanted something high on a table, she knew that walking for her there almost as fast and she didn't have to get back up. Children are all so different and mature in different areas at different times. She may amaze you by being a good basketball player in 15 years. You just never know. Take care.

It's not unusual for them to walk late. Both of my babies were late walkers. Oldest at sixteen months and youngest at fourteen months. It is just like Wahela said I think... just some of them can move faster crawling and they don't have time to learn. That was my Matty's problem. He could scoot and crawl faster than it was worth the trouble to learn to walk.
If it's balance it could be something as simple as an inner ear thing. Get that babies hearing and ears checked if it persists. That's the first route to go!
You are going to have a good day now after having a tough weekend Cookie Sistah. I promise! _________________

I agree with the post...get the ears checked. If that checks out, go from there...She will get up and walk when she is good and ready. My second baby was a premie but when she learned to crawl she was a out of there. Only thing that slowed her down was putting a dress on her, but she figured that out too.
