OMG what have I got myself into. Shocked

Well the gig started with a backing track of hurdy-gurdy carnival music.
Then to rapturous applause and cat calls the band took the stage and yes your "MAN" was their!!! All in black including bandanna.
What followed was a was a kaleidoscope of cords , your guy and his friend shimmying up and down the stage, banging butts with wide grins like two 3 year olds that have had to many E numbers. As a novice i may get the song titles wrong but they rocked on through "The one" and "All night long" for which the two of them had dirty grins, then bruce gave a little political speech in explanation of "Devils arcade" , followed by one or two ballads to catch their breath, then we we off on the roller coaster again, power cords filling the stadium, not that your guy was any slacker every second song bruce would scream "Come on Stevie" and with the energy of the Duracell bunny he would run from what ever location he was to his friends side and duet. Then they withdrew from the stage.

The encore comprised of a greatest hits medley that made the night, even the smell of the guy beside me and his inability to sing in sink (3 second delay)with the band didn't dampen my spirits, the band turned the overloaded amps up another notch and we rocked on for another half hour, then pandemonium broke lose as your guy and bruce , whether planned or ill advised decided to close the set with "America land", have you ever seen 70,000 half drunk Irish jigging, its not a pretty sight but great fun and probably registered on some rector scale some where. The band said goodnight. I left the stadium singing "Born to run" and all and sundry joining in, great night had by all" Smile

I know you said "Pages", but as they say a picture paints a thousand words so hopefully the attached pics of the gig make up for a few extra pages. Smile

Did you guys know that is Bruce's wife that plays on stage with him? I always hated when he married jullianna Phillips, but he left JP for his wife now hehehe.

Hi Ladies,

Glad you liked the pic's , the only other people that will be seeing them are a few "Boss" fanatic friends in Holland, he toured their a couple of weeks ago and they told me its a must see tour.
So your welcome.
Oh they told me he finishes his euro tour in amsterdam and their going to that gig too.
So it shouldn't be long before hes back on your side of the pond.

Word of warning he sold out 3 nights Thur,Fri and Sunday 210,000 tickets in "5 mins online" and due to this and the scalp-ers (ticket touts) chargeing seriously crazy money for a ticket , I only got tickets for the Fri night(normal price) so no more pic's im afraid, if the dutch friends send some on i'll post LS in amsterdam. Smile

He didn't throw anything by the way Wink

Great clip(never seen it before), but I think Loux will have to share with knoxy, two major Foo fanatic's.

Always liked "London Calling" and the guy's certainly add something to it.

Elvis Costello as far as i know doesn't gig any more to busy doing Movie scores.

Seen him at a gig many moons ago, I stress seen as I had a date on my shoulders for most of the gig , at least my ears were warm Wink

LOL.

Hopefully you make it to this tour, heard today they different songs each night.

I like Elvis C but I've never delved into this music don't know why. The only one Elvis was a joke of course Laughing

I'm lukky. I wouldn't have to get on anyone's shoulders.... hehehe It's my kids who I would insist to go with me to see a real concert. I could slip up front I am so short! I'd make em lean over. My poor kids.

But one day, I promise Narcy!!! I am going and I am going to see my man!!!!!!

Loux goes all the time to see her Grohl, so I will get my day! Very Happy

It seems they have done a number of dates of their Magic tour in the states already. Their are a few dates left in NJ and MA.

On you Man's friends site main page ,you can sign up for a news letter on the band/tour, but you probably know that already.

Elvis C he was part of a wave of bands of that era, post punk great for its time but dated now.

When we were on vacation in the states we visited the ELVIS LIVES museum just outside of Memphis , we were assured by the owner that he's going to make a come back any day soon and he had signed documentation from Elivs's niece that she was in constant contact with him , but would not reveal his location as he was having a break, he even had lab reports stating the guy who was buried did not match Elvis's DNA, I'm waiting for that gig . He sold every conceivable type of elvis memorabilia includeing toilet rolls, i've got the pics.

No vested interest what so ever. Wink
