Ok, this is a very serious thread, but Mikey and I decided to put it here and all of our good friend are here and we want to share with you our diets and how we are doing and how hard we are working on it and to support each other and get your support as well. We are taking this very serious and are emailing as well as posting here. So we would like to share our good news with you as well as our ire, and get your support when we need it and get our "Woo hoo, you go girls" when we do good.

So help us out and be the good friends that you always are and laugh and cry with us and help us out, OK?

Mikey,
I did good on the quantity of food today, but the quality sucked. I didn't eat as much as I normally do, but I ate buiscuits. Not the wheaat ones like I am supposed to eat, but the butter ones with added butter on them. And I ate a small bowl of scalloped potatos from mom and dad's dinner. They get these things that have cheese and ubtter flavor and t hey are so freaking good I couldn't help myself.

Haven't started on exercising yet, as the last week with my fibro I have been so sore. I pla on getting that started over the weekend. Been sleeping like crap so last night I took a Xanax and passed out LOL! Just took one tonight too so I can sleep! Think that will help with the pain if I can just get some rest!

How are you getting started? Cool
Love ya girly and we are going to do great on this! I have every faith in us! Shocked

Windsong,

OK, I am starting tomorrow, I promise. I am going to make a note to remind my self to be good. I did walk to the store yesterday. It is about a mile total. I do not walk fast when I am by myself because of my vision. When I am with my son he is so much taller than me and has those long legs that I feel like I am speed walking. LOL. I usually start slow because I am stiff but limber up as I go. Today I did walked to the store but much closer one so it does not count. We need to remember that housework is good exercise so we must not forget to count doing laundry and all the other stuff that, we as women sometimes forget. So, I did laundry today, too. I have re-adjusted my meds and going to take them at bedtime because I just get too, too sleepy during the day. When that happens no motivation so today I start no daytime meds (it is OK'd from my doc).

It sounds like you are working hard on diet don't starve yourself too much. I mentioned in email that I think we should have a cheat night and be able to enjoy whatever we want. Also, everyone one does fall off the diet train too so no beating ourselves up. If there is a special event or we go out, we should enjoy ourselves! The time to diet is at home with day to day living. Does this make sense or am I being too easy. Maybe this is why I am still over weight.

I just want you to know you are the first one to get me excited about dieting since I have left my ex. Thanks for including me in this.

Tomorrow I start the day with black coffee (no coffemate), I will plan to cut back on quantity that I eat.
If you find any good recipes that fit in our diet plan let me know. I love to cook and like to experiment. It can't be too exotic because my son does like basic food. Of course he has no weight problem and never did (just like his Dad).

Ohhh you two,,, what a fantastic idea for a thread!! I love it!! I had a quick peek at the forum at work tonight as I sometimes do,, but I never log in of course...(I lurk!!) and I saw this thread and felt really chuffed thats you started it!! What a great way to do things.....!!

I have two suggestions if you don't mind me butting in,,, but Echo says I am invasive so might as well live up to my new reputation...LOL.....

Firstly Tamster my very good friend why don't you make it a sticky?? That way the thread won't get lost in the Chaos down here and it will get added too often..... I think thats a good idea but totally up to you two...

AND secondly...pedometres..(think thats the right spelling??) are a great motivators for exercise and gauging how much walking we do round the house even!! They are real cheap here so I am guessing they are over there as well and I think they are just great things....

Ok my two cents worth for the min...... Hope you don't mind!!?? Rolling Eyes

Mikey this is a great idea!! I am hoping Missy Tamster will make it a sticky here in 'Anything Goes' cause I gotta say this is a very important topic that many of us need some help in!!

My Grandmother was Insulin dependant Diabetic,,, My Dad is Non Insulin dependant Diabetic and eats loads of not so healthy foods!! But he is 84 so whatever makes him happy!!!...

I am a sitter for Diabetes with my family history and my eating habits are crap!!! I eat good food mostly but my routine is definitely crap!! I can go all day on just coffee and then suddenly decide its time for food and whammo,,,, I eat me a load of carbohydrates to make up for lost time!! Or I will eat nothing but 'rabbit food' (salads) as my kids call it and know it is definitely not enough and yeppppp my eating habits have always been poor,,,, as has my motivation for exercise unfortunately.......!!!

I don't need to lose weight as the 'P diet' did wonders!! ...... What I need is to start having some routine to my diet..... Each day is so different for me and my metabolism must be in constant confusion as to what its gonna be hit with this day...!!

Ducky Lucky...
If I could figure out how the heck to make it a sticky I would. LOL I can't remember how to freakin' do it to save my life. If you can figure it out do it please or Echo, or Tildy.

Mikey,
You are doing good with the exercising thing! I haven't been trying that, but dad and I are going to bring the treadmill down tomorrow and I'm going to get going on that. Gotta figure out how to level it out first with the fibro and the pain pills LOL

I had my blood sugar level go down to 124 last night! I ate a plate of aspergus for dinner and it did good! Today I've eaten a bowl of low sugar cereal but it didn't do any good for the BSL still spiked too high. So gonna have to try something else. But the cereal is all I ate today.

I'll eat some aspergus probably again or fix a small salad before I go to bed tonight for my dinner and tomorrow it's grocery store day and cleaning, cleaning, cleaning to get the treadmill down here!

So that's my progress for now!

Well you just answered my question from the other thread! Get drunk before you get on the plane. Well not too much so they won't let you fly, but enough to get you chilled out LOL that's what I would do if I were ever to have to fly which is not likely ever going to happen, but I would do that if I were. LOLOL!!!!

I'm going to the grocery store tomorrow for my big trip tomorrow and I plan on going slowly through there and finding stuff that would be good to eat, that is low in sugar, fat and carbs. I'm going to go ahead and make my babies do better eating too. CAuse I just let them do their thing and my thirteen year old almost weighs 300 pounds. So even though they don't know they are getting involved they are too lol

I'm a big muncher too so I am going to get some sunflower seeds to munch on. I got a bag earlier this week and Matty and I liked them. So he can munch on them too!

so I'll eat more but I'll still be eating better!

and I can't wait to get the treadmill down here so that I can get started on walking. I've always loved walking, but I can't handle the heat any more. So I can walk on the tread mill and watch my murder shows too LOL!!!

Hugs atcha Mikey! We are going to do this! But gad zukes I want some freaking chocolate right now!!!!!! ROFLMAO!!!!
