My N has always been respectful towards me but after I got mad at him for cancelling many "dates", he started to use the "F" word in a recent conversation, (yes, I know I was in the devalue stage at this point). I am not a saint but when every other word is the "F" word, I am uncomfortable. I told him it bothered me but he continued and I called him a "jerk". He slammed the phone down and I have not heard from him since. I know this is perceived as a threat and I know he will not call me. I want to approach him at some point maybe this summer but I am not sure how he will react. I felt bad after that and left him a voice mail message saying that I was not the "enemy and that he was taking it out on the wrong person". Yikes, did I completely mess things up for a reunion with this man????

IF he is a narcissist (and I am not sure how you had him "diagnosed"), then, no, calling him a jerk won't deter him from seeking future supply from you but only when and if his other sources run dry.
