A grandfather from the First-Peoples' Cherokee Nation was talking to his grandson about how he felt. He said, "I feel as if I have two wolves fighting a fierce battle in my heart. One wolf is evil - he is anger, envy, sorrow, regret, greed, arrogance, self-pity, guilt, resentment, lies, false pride, superiority and ego. The other wolf is good - he is gratitude, joy, peace, love, hope, serenity, humility, kindness, benevolence, empathy, generosity, truth compassion and faith.
The grandson asked him: "Which wolf will win the fight in your heart?"
The grandfather answered "The one I feed."
