Psychopath and Narcissist Survivors Support Group

My exN was sent divorce papers and an Acknowledgement of Service on Oct. 2nd. To date he refuses to sign them and has had no contact contact with me whatsover since mid-September, when he left me on a whim (no argument/disagreement/etc.). I have sent a few emails to him recently, explaining the next steps if the Acknowledgement is not signed and returned (my husband is a UK citizen, I a US citizen).

The next step is a process server at his place of business and if this doesn't work, we must then ask the US Court for a special waiver that involves affidavits, etc. being sent to his family, friends and colleagues in order to show that we have attempted contact and exhausted all means.

This is a VERY private, highly paranoid guy. Why would he want to expose his private affairs in this manner instead of signing the documents, getting a lawyer and moving on?
