There's been a lot of negative talk on this board lately lately, so I'm going to start a lovely thread about lovely things that happen to us despite our miserable childhoods. Please feel free to join me in this.

Yesterday the thermostat rose to the mid-seventies and it seemed as though everyone in my city, including myself, went utterly spring mad. We put on our flip-flops and wandered through the streets with joyous and dazed looks on our sun-deprived faces. Normally I become mildly irritable when the sidewalks are choked with slow-walkers (I tend to walk like I drive--like I'm the only person on the road) (which is why it's very good that I no longer own a car) but yesterday I was just happy to see all the smiling people.

When I got back to my house we opened up all of the doors and the windows to let the fresh air in (or, as fresh as air gets in the middle of the city). The cat went bonkers and ran up and down the stairs until she threw up. She's perhaps the dumbest creature I've ever had the pleasure of knowing, and after I'd cleaned up her mess she flopped on my lap and purred her little face off as I did work on my computer.

Texts came in from friends, wishing me a Happy Pi Day (yes, my friends are too cool) and as the work day wound down some of them came over. We made margaritas and blahed on about whatever it is that people blah on about when they're happy and warm and full of tequila. It was a good day.

Tell me about lovely things.

Oh pumpkin. If only everyone was brought happiness by my talk of dog poo and kitty yak, the world would be a gentler place. Because it's beginning to occur to me that I talk about that stuff alot.

You go and have a good day, and tell us all about it.

Thankyou so much. Youre post made me smile. I do and can not deal with such strong emotions....guess I am to much of a wuss. I was sitting here shaking because I knew there was anger here.

Something good, you must love you cat as much as I love mine. He sleeps with me and when I wake up from nitemares, all I have to do is put my hand on his body and feel his purr start. Kinda calms me....

My daffodils are up, crocus's are already blooming, and they are calling for a good snow this weekend. Sorry to babble here but you did calm me and for that I thankyou so much,

A lovely thread about lovely things? Laughing

I've been thinking for a long time: I like the pretty girls with the kind smiles. And animals and children, they don't have agendas and I like that. Of late I've been taking solace in Neil Young's music, not only musically but lyrically he writes some lovely image provoking songs. Very simple and pure music.

It is warm here too and it was great to wash the car and get all the salt off today. My son proudly announced that he has lost 90 lbs today-has only 25 more to go, and he is joining the health club one block away as I write. It has been GREAT to open the windows. Yesterday I sat in the sun for two hours, doing absolutely nothing else. People were walking around in their shirtsleeves and couples were walking and smooching as they walked. Two people at work had babies this week.....

Yes, Spring IS Here!!!
