letters in court

Postby KERMIT on Sat Jun 13, 2009 3:16 am

Hopefully you are not a family member of an N so you can go NC. But for me, having 2 kids with the N, I cannot escape! I got rid of a lot of nasty, abusive emails and provocative letters from my N, but when we went through court, they could have been used as evidence. When you go up against one of these in court, esp in custody matters, it is very difficult as they lie under oath and make up all kinds of stuff about you that isn't true. Even if they don't have evidence they say they do and people generally believe them. So that was really hard.

So be careful with the things you throw out, as they may be used in evidence someday (hopefully not!) esp the clearly abusive emails which can be used for DVOs and stuff.

take care, its good to know that i'm not the only person who was duped!

Kermit - I too have been involved with court procedures and only recently won. I still have to arrange payment for our property but after three years of manipulating the court system (he is second in charge at a court house), I nearly died but I didn't cave in. I am not perfect but I am honest and I stood my ground against his lies and manipulating language and emotional abuse.

I feel for you and with children there would have been a huge load for you to carry while you fought your battle. And it is a battle - I fought - and I know you would have too - refusing to be his victim. It is bloody hard work everyday.

I can now breathe and feel peace for the first time in three years and ten years if I add the time I was involved with the N. I hope you have a sense of peace - I will will it to you and your children.

From one survivor to another - with care - Goddess :h5:
Goddess is here to learn lessons - if only they weren't so hard....
