I sit in the silent darkness
With margarita in hand.
I wish you would call me
So I could take a stand.
But the silence continues
And I am lost to a mental band.

I sit in the silent darkness
My mind is a swirl.
Loneliness surrounds me
I sit in a tight curl.
Asking “why” to a windy whirl.

I sit in the silent darkness
No one knows I’m there.
I force my mind away from the sadness
I sit for hours and stare.
Seeing my life going nowhere.

I sit in the silent darkness
There’s barely a sound.
Others are having a life
While I am house bound.
When will it be found?

I walk away from the silent darkness
I clatter the ice.
It’s time for a refill.
Three more will suffice.
Then I go back to the silent darkness, isn’t this nice?

I could feel your pain as I read each line of your poem...the emptiness and despair are all too real....I have been there too....if this is indicative of how you are presently feeling, I am here to tell you it does get better...hang in there!

My thoughts and prayers are with you ... remember that nothing lasts forever and that lightness will be what you see in your future.. it will come from within, where it truly counts. Strength and validation from within is truly empowering ..... you may not think it but you are on your way to a new beginning ... take care Smile
