Welcome! I had been thinking about doing this for awhile now as the internet is a big scary place. This is one of my specialties as I met the XNPH online on a message board. The internet can be a scary place. It's the Psychopath's and Narcissist's stomping grounds as they catch on quick that they can make themselves out to be any one that they want to be. We must use extreme caution in cyberspace. In my own hometown there was a woman who met a guy online and went to be with him and he killed her. The man I met online turned out not to be the sweet and goofy fun loving guy he made himself be, but a sadistic psychopath and I met and married him only 2 and a half months after meeting him online. I had two young kids who I also put in danger as well as myself because I didn't know. I thought that online "the man of my dreams" could get to know me and my heart by emails and IM's. I took him at face value and I was shocked clean through ever fiber I had to find out that he was a horrid lying pedophile and pyschopath.

This is a problem growing every day so PLEASE be careful. If you are going to date online make sure that you meet the first several times in a public place or take a friend with you. Be prepared. You could pay with your life through this machine!

Please, if any one has any stories to tell about cyber people help the newbies out by posting what you feel safe to post. I'll find stuff and put up helpful links to protect yourself online as well.

Great warning Windy......As windy knows I was caught by a group a few yrs ago....all I thought were victims like me but turns out most were n/p's themselves....all claiming to be victims......Oh they had the 'red flags' down really well so they could portray the victim.......I began to pull away from them when I suspected they werent as I thought and as soon as I stopped going into the chat room guess what I became??????/The one they cut down....the one they spoke about........The one they tore to shreds.........Be carefull.....Very carefull.......

And.... You said, "all I thought were victims like me". You are NOT a victim any more chickadee, you are a SURVIVOR! You were married to a very nasty awful NP from hell jerk for 30 years, but you got out and you have weathered all the storms from having enough courage to leave to dealing with the family that you lost especially your own father and children. It took some real guts to do what you did and I admire you so very much for the chutzpah that you have and the dignity that you show. Instead of moping around you made a life for yourself and your being here to help out the other newbies is priceless. You impress me chickadee and I am very proud of you and proud to call you my friend!

Thank you for this forum! I have been a volunteer with a couple internet safety groups since 1999, helping victims of cyberstalking, scams & frauds and other online problems. I look forward to lending a hand here if needed.

You are definitely right that they come after us for physical reasons. But the psychological games that N's play are very bad and very bad to stomach. Mine only hit me once and the last day that he was in my house, but the psychological impact that he left- left me with PTSD. I had a sore jaw for a couple of weeks but the psychological games left far more scars than even seven years out I am still dealing with today. That sore jaw is gone, but I go to bed with a ten pound flashlight to protect me and my kids by!

But you are right, it definitely sucks. I remember an old friend of my dad's saying that they beat women and say they can't help it, that they go into a rage and can't help what they do. But if that were true, then they would be like everywhere, not just with the wife or gf at home, but what about that 300 pound guy he gets pissed at - at work? Does he go into a blind rage with knowing that they could get their ass kicked? I don't think so.

That kinda says it, nipped in the bud. It's about power over us and control. N or P or not it's juist abuse. I am glad to be alive and to watch my children grow up, that's what it is really about in this lifetime, to teach them how to live and be safe from these bad people!

Hi Everyone,

My Narc used the internet to try and destroy my business, and reputation. He stole my passwords and pretended to be me online.

He engaged some of my friends in cyber sex causing problems with my friends, and business. I left my Narc in july, and hes proceeded to harass me, my friends and family from the USA into Canada.
