Hi Nolongertrusting,
Sorry about the delay.
At fist i thought is this person psychic or is it just a mad stab in the dark? Firstly I used to listen to Dire Straits particularly their double live album, played the LP to death, years ago. I still have the LP some where, but no record player , it sparked romantic memories of someone a long time ago .I will have to get my hands on a copy.
If i'm guessing right, you might think its got something to do with my board name. On my side of the pond a Nobbler was slang particularly used in horse racing for someone who doped(drugged)or physically handicapped a horse to lose a race. Hence the name Narc Nobbler and I don't mean literally drugging or crippling her just in case some one gets the wrong end of the stick. Basically to hinder or hamper her plans.
At the time I picked my the name my XN was a coked up, very vindictive, person with a smear campaign, from what I hear of late she's pretending to be a cross between Mother Teresa and martha stuart . While still having her wild wild party lifestyle. I thought i could hinder her in some way (nobble/hobble) and i'll admit i did early on, but they don't "FALL" as they always have a safety net (enablers) to catch them when things go wrong.
And theirs always a shoulder to cry on, its all attention and any interference on my part would give her just what she craves.
Sorry didn't mean to go on.
I have a tendency to ramble.  And go on tangents.
I'll leave you with a riddle (and no rude answers or peeking)

Narc, I'm a Mark Knopfler fan as well as an Alan Parson's fan, and even a Ten Years After fan. No mad stab in the dark. Oh ya, you couldn't find find a record player if your life depended on it. Today's $1000 buy is tomorrow's obsolete. We have an old typewriter at work, do you think we can find a repair man. NOOOOO.
So, that's where you got your name from. " Hence the name Narc Nobbler" Ok, I get it.
You know Narc, those so called "enablers" will fall short one day. Be glad it isn't your door step anylonger.
Coke & Meth take a terrible toll on your body. There will be a price to pay one day.
Don't worry about going on. I know the feeling very well. Good riddle, but I have to say, if you didn't give the answer I wouldn't have guessed it.
