An Article I Found This Morning: Cyber Bullying Case-

Postby WindSong on Thu Nov 20, 2008 3:18 pm

I thought that this was really good. They are starting to make sure that justice is being served for cyber cases more and more. They are passing laws and working on prosecuting cyber crimes and I think that this is just wonderful! This poor little girl took her own life based on being the person that this bully was after. It's very sad, and more sadly just one of the cases that we are hearing about. Let me know what you think of this article if you want.

Have a great day everyone! :D

Thanks Tildy. Two important lessons learned from this poor little girl..

- There is a wide scaled range from which these psychopaths will work. No one is safe from being targeted, kid or grown up.

- The USA is now starting to realize the dangers that lie out there in cyber world. Justice is now being rendered to those who dare cross the line the way that these people did to the little girl. That's a good thing. More people are learning and that's because of people like us out there working to make it so.

I'm proud of the accomplishments that have come to light because it means that people are starting to hear us and learn what we already know by experience.

And this is just one case, there are so many more out there that we haven't even heard about. Education and knowledge is the first and biggest step that we take. This is so important, don't refuse to talk about it like so many of us did because we were ashamed and people didn't believe us. Yell until we are heard I say!

Love ya bunches,
Windy

The court listened.

My N (#2) found me on this board a couple of months ago, created a fake profile and flamed me. He didn't stop there. He somehow tracked down my fiancee's work email and sent malicious messages to him about me. He also attempted to link up with several friends of mine on social networking sites. Fortunately, he didn't get far.

The last straw was an email message to my fiancee in which he said I was "mentally unstable" and accused me of "camping out" in front of his house and driving off without talking to him. I wasn't even in the state that weekend. I went right to the cops.

During the initial peace order hearing, the judge only had to hear evidence of three messages before announcing "That's enough for me. Granted."

We had the final peace order last Monday and he consented. Smart move considering that I walked in the door with records of everything. I was glad to see that the court acknowledged cyber-evidence and gave it the weight it did. Maybe the justice system is wising up.

Great job Mystical - hope that has stopped him. And good to hear that the law stood by you and accepted the cyber-evidence. Thats just brilliant. Congrats to you for standing up to this abuse.
